三、写作分析

小作文

The line graph and pie charts below show the number of three groups of immigrants from 2000 to 2008 and the percentage of immigrants for different reasons in 2008

本次小作文考察的是混合图（动态线图 + 静态饼图）。动态图上三条线的变化趋势还是很好进行描写的，up to 2 years呈现小幅下降后上升再持平的趋势，4 or more years基本不变，2 to 4 years呈现小幅波动后上升的过程。饼图中的数据也是比较好进行描写的，Work是占比最大的，而others和no reason stated 都是最小值7%。剩下的两个数据也有两倍关系。整体来看本次小作文难度不大。

大作文

Some cities have vehicle-free days when private cars, trucks and motorcycles are banned from the city center. People are encouraged to use public transportation such as buses, taxis and metro on vehicle free days. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

本次大作文考察的是利弊分析交通类话题。题干信息当中提到的vehicle-free days的概念也给出了比较详细的解释，即不使用私家车卡车和摩托车，转而使用公共交通。本次话题和大家的生活息息相关，对其利弊的讨论确实算是难度不大的。本篇sample采取的是先立论，后驳论，再反驳驳论的方式，大家也可以采取先让步（如果选择弊大于利的话，承认确实有一定的好处）后立论（但我更倾向于坏处多）的结构。

It is true that the call for a much greener way of living has become louder than ever. Consequently, vehicle-free days have been proposed and implemented in some cities. While I accept that multi-faceted benefits can be yielded through this practice, I still hold the opinion that the potential issues caused far overshadow the favorable impacts.

Paragraph 2-Body 1-Disadvantages

Argument 1: 非常显然的是this practice inevitably leads to inconvenience of some residents

Supporting Evidence: 例如，有的人are with limited mobility and rely heavily on private vehicles for transportation, 那么在实行vehicle-free days的时候，他们可能没有办法出行完成daily practices. 再例如，部分员工可能被迫要 make adjustment to their daily routine since the buses and metro have a fixed timetable, 这样才能够及时clock in

Argument 2: vehicle-free days可能会干扰人们正常运营business，带来一些经济上的损失

Supporting Evidence: 不能开卡车意味着有很多delivery work会受到很大的限制，which could unfavorably entail backlog and delayed transport of some commodities. 这对于一些restricted areas尤是如此，decreased mobility and a reduction in customer traffic undoubtedly impact their revenue

Paragraph 3-Body 2-Advantages

However, there are indeed some desirable influences to be noticed if vehicle-free days are in place.

Argument 1: 限制private vehicle的使用确实能够带来不少environmental benefits

Supporting Evidence: the reduced emission of toxic gas可以一定程度上地减少air pollution, 这样一来人们的health level can also be boosted since the risk of developing respiratory diseases can be reduced. 同时, the carbon emissions can also be cut down, contributing to mitigate climate change

Yet, 有其他的更好的方式能够帮助解决上述问题同时又不会interrupt the normal lives and livelihoods of residents, 比如开发clean energy

虽然vehicle-free days are justifiable to some degree for its influence on environment, I still oppose such practice
